10/27/2017 1 Comment P/S TutorialThe goal of this assignment was to find photoshop tutorials and create an inmate following the online instructions of your choice. From this assignment I learned how to use different photoshop tools and techniques most of which included manipulating the opacity of different pictures and colors to make them blend. However, it was sometimes difficult to get to the next step because the tutorials didn't list every step or they had a different version of photoshop.

10/23/2017 0 Comments Photo Assignment 4, MacroThe goal of Macro photography is to use different settings on the camera to create a small depth of field and focus on the object of interest by making it greater than or just about life size. ISO: 200 Aperture: f 2.8 Shutter Speed: 1/25 Editing: I used photoshop to crop the image following the rule of thirds, blur out the background, and I used clone stamp to edit part of the frog which was covered up by a leaf. From this assignment I learned how to use aperture and shutter speed to take close up macro pictures. One thing that was hard about this assignment was getting close to the frogs I was taking pictures of because it was hard for them to stay still as a foreign object was being shoved in their face.
10/18/2017 0 Comments Car Retouch AssignmentThe Goal of this assignment was to learn some basic and somewhat advanced photo editing techniques. Also we were given an original photo and edited photo to try and copy using photo shop applications. Original Photo Retouched Photo What I learned from this assignment was how to use different applications in photoshop to edit out the background, edit out reflections on the car, crop it, etc. I also learned that this process is not very easy. Many steps go into his process and it takes a lot of time and precision.
10/18/2017 0 Comments Photo Assignment 3, NatureThe goal of this assignment was to take pictures of nature, while applying information we had learned in class to improve the picture. This was the photo I ended up turning in because it had the best focus point. The only editing I did was cropping the image so that it would fill the frame and follow the rule of thirds. Aperture: f 2.8 Shutter Speed: 1/ 170 ISO: 200 From this assignment I learned that it is harder to find focus points in nature because the goal is not to take a picture of a specific object or person. Instead you have to be creative and look for patterns, lines, or aspects of nature to be the focus of your picture.
10/17/2017 0 Comments PanoramasThe goal of this assignment was to learn how to use a tripod, take panoramas, and process them on the computer. Aperture: f 3.2 Shutter Speed: 1/10 ISO: 200 The only editing to this photo was cropping. Aperture: f 3.2 Shutter Speed: 1/1250 ISO: 160 The only editing to this photo was cropping. What I learned from this assignment is how to set up a panorama using the camera and tripod. I also learned how to use the different tools in photo shop to edit the panorama.
10/10/2017 0 Comments Photo Assignment 2, AnimalsThe goal of this assignment was to express a purpose with a picture of an animal. As well during this assignment we were to apply the skills we have learned in class regarding ISO, Aperture, and shutter speed. I chose this picture because the close up of this puppy conveys a sense of peace in the background, with the color green, and happiness which is captured through the puppy. Aperture: f 3.5 Shutter Speed: 1/ 15 ISO: 400 THE ONLY EDITING I DID TO THIS PHOTO WAS CROP IT SO THE PUPPY'S FACE WAS OVER THE INTERSECT LINES ACC TO THE RULE OF THIRDS. What I learned from this assignment is that it is very hard to photograph animals because they are always moving so it makes it very hard for the camera to focus on their face. Also from this experiment, I learned that digital zoom does not work well because it alters the quality of the photo. If you want a good composition you need to get close to the image you are trying to capture and fill the screen.
